Recovery with a Human Face

A discussion on alternatives for a socially-responsive crisis recovery

February 05th, 2014

Dear All,

While following the discussion on fuel subsidies, you might like to know that in our basic income pilots in India, a slight majority of respondents preferred the basic income to fuel and food subsidies at the beginning, and a bigger majority preferred the basic income at the end.

Under the Indian PDS, it is kerosene that is the subsidised fuel.

The youtube video that can be accessed at the end of this email gives you a flavour of what we have been doing. Articles and our report give much more statistical material.

All the best,
Guy Standing
